Liposuction – Toledo, OH

Contour yourself to confidence...

You know it’s time for a change and a boost to your confidence, but where to start? While proper diet and exercise can do wonders, sometimes a little more is needed to recharge your morale. The leading technique today in order to significantly slim and reshape many problem areas is Liposuction. Other options, such as a Tummy Tuck or CoolSculpting can be a solution as well and are worth a professional consultation.

Liposuction can be performed on many different areas on the body in order to create a more balanced silhouette. Many times liposuction is performed alongside breast enhancement or a tummy tuck in order to complement each other. This technique can help you attain the goals you have been striving for and refresh your body image.

Dr. Zavell commonly performs liposuction on patients in Toledo, Maumee, Perrysburg, Bowling Green, Findlay, Sylvania, and the surrounding areas such as Monroe and Ann Arbor MI with beautiful desire results. Liposuction slims and reshapes specific body areas by removing localized pockets of fat that have not reduced through diet and exercise. The most common areas where these fat deposits appear include the abdomen, thighs, hips, waist/love handles, arms, inner knees, calves, ankles, and back.

We want to make sure that you are comfortable with all aspects of the liposuction technique. During your initial consultation and education with Dr. Zavell and his team, each step will be discussed in order to alleviate any anxiety you may have. We want you to be confident and satisfied with your end result and we commit to working together to achieve the natural, pure results you are looking for.

Top Questions on Liposuction

How much will my liposuction cost?

The cost of your liposuction depends upon what you want to accomplish. Liposuction can be done on most parts of the body. The cost is based upon three factors.
1. How many areas of your body are having liposuction?
2. How long will the surgery take?
3. Do you need to be asleep for the procedure versus sedation/local anesthesia?
This is why the cost range is broad, ranging from about $1,500 - $10,000. The best way to get an accurate assessment of cost is to be evaluated by a board certified plastic surgeon and receive a quote.

Do I need to be at an ideal weight to have liposuction?

Liposuction is designed to remove excess fat volume but will not tighten loose tissues. During liposuction, enough fat is removed to flatten an area but some fat is left to maintain a smooth contour and avoid loose skin. Significant weight loss after liposuction can result in surface irregularities, bumps and loose hanging skin. Therefore it is best to be within 20lbs of your goal weight prior to having liposuction to avoid these risks.

How soon after liposuction can I expect to see my results

Your body will respond to liposuction by swelling, as a part of the healing process. Swelling in the lower half of the body takes longer to resolve than in the upper half. Most people will begin to see the results of their liposuction in 1-2 weeks but the final result will usually take at least four (4) weeks. This is dependent, however, on avoiding weight gain and continuing to exercise.

When can I return to work after liposuction?

Liposuction allows for early return to work and activities. Since liposuction is done through small openings of about half an inch each, there are few restrictions regarding your incisions. Wound care consists of changing pads in the first few days, and after that, mainly consists of wearing a compression garment. You may return to work in as little as 2-3 days and resume pre-op exercise routines in 1 ½ - 2 weeks.

How much weight will I lose with liposuction?

Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure. It is designed to contour and remove bulges from excess fat. The amount of fat removed may result in the loss of several pounds but this amount is unlikely to exceed 7-10 pounds total. Also you will swell (initially) after liposuction, retaining fluid and may temporary weigh more than your pre-op weight. Be assured that the fluid weigh will go away as it is a part of the healing process.
